Our story
Legacy Lodge grew outwards from its gardens. The lawns, hedges, terraces and shade trees were planted and tended over decades, long before anyone thought about a website, and they are still the reason most of our guests come back.
The rooms were built to face them. Paths were laid so you can walk the whole property before breakfast without crossing a car park. The conference rooms sit far enough from the guest wings that a full-day workshop and a quiet night can happen at the same time.
What has stayed constant is how the place is run: rooms cleaned properly, breakfast when you actually need it, a gate watched through the night, and a team that has been here long enough to know your name by the second morning.
“You walk out after breakfast and forget you had somewhere to be. That is what this garden does to people.”
Decades in the making
How we run it
Rooms are serviced every day and checked afterwards. If something is not right, tell reception and it is dealt with the same day.
Security on the gate and attended parking inside it, every night of the year, so you can actually sleep.
Reception is staffed around the clock. No queue system, no ticket number - someone who knows your booking.
The setting
The property is walled and gated, the paths are level and lit, and the guest wings sit far enough from the conference rooms that a workshop and a night off can happen at once.
Why Legacy Lodge
We are not the biggest lodge and we are not trying to be. What we have is room to move, grounds worth walking, and a team who have been here long enough to know how a stay should feel.
Lawns, terraces and shaded walks that were planted long before we needed a website.
Full en-suites, proper desks and wardrobes that fit a suitcase. Serviced every day.
The room set as you asked, the Wi-Fi holding, and the tea arriving without being chased.
