Legendary

Rest beneath old trees in a garden lodge built on legacy and quiet comfort

Our story

Legacy Lodge was built around its gardens, and around the idea that a guest should feel looked after.

The gardens came first. Lawns, hedges, terraces and shade trees planted and tended over decades, until the grounds became the reason people came back. The rooms were built to look onto them, and the paths were laid so you could walk the whole property before breakfast.

What has not changed is the way we run the place. Rooms cleaned properly. Breakfast when you need it, not only when it suits us. A gate that is watched through the night. And a conference room that is set up the way you asked, the first time.

"You walk out after breakfast and forget you had somewhere to be. That is what this garden does to people."

Why Legacy Lodge

Space to breathe, and people who remember your name

We are not the biggest lodge and we are not trying to be. What we have is room to move, grounds worth walking, and a team that has been here long enough to know how a stay should feel.

A brick footpath running between tall evergreens and rounded shrubs in the lodge gardens.

Gardens grown over decades

Lawns, terraces and shaded walks that were planted long before we needed a website.

Rooms with room to move

Full en-suites, proper desks and wardrobes that fit a suitcase. Serviced every day.

Conferencing that just works

The room set as you asked, the Wi-Fi holding, and the tea arriving without being chased.

A four-poster bed prepared for the evening with a gold throw.

What guests say once they are home

"We came for one night and stayed three. The gardens are the thing - you walk out after breakfast and forget you had somewhere to be. Staff remembered our names by the second morning."

"I have run four workshops here now. The boardroom is set up exactly as asked every time, the Wi-Fi holds, and the tea arrives without anyone chasing it. That is rarer than it should be."

Good to know

The questions we are asked most

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is by 10:00. If your flight or meeting falls outside those hours, tell us when you book and we will hold the room or store your luggage at reception at no charge.

Yes. Every rate includes breakfast for the guests named on the booking. If you need to leave before the kitchen opens, let reception know the evening before and something will be set aside for you.

Yes. Parking is on-site, inside the gate, and attended. There is no additional charge for guests staying with us or attending a conference.

Complimentary Wi-Fi covers the guest rooms, the conference rooms and the main garden seating areas. There is no time limit and no per-device charge.

We can. Give us your flight number and arrival time at least 24 hours ahead and a driver will meet you. Transfers are charged separately – ask reception for the current rate.

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We have boardroom-style seating for smaller meetings and a larger room for full-day workshops, with tea breaks and lunch arranged on request. See the Conferencing page or email us for a quotation.

Are children welcome?

Very. The Family Room takes two adults and two children, cots are available on request, and the lawns are safe and enclosed. Children under a certain age stay free – ask us when booking.

It is. A number of our guests stay by the week or the month, usually in the Deluxe or Executive rooms. Laundry, housekeeping and a longer-stay rate can all be arranged – please enquire directly.

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before arrival are not charged. Inside 48 hours we charge the first night. We will always try to move a booking rather than cancel it, so speak to us first.

We do – small weddings, birthdays, funerals, church groups and company gatherings. The gardens work well for daytime functions and the conference room for anything under cover. Tell us the numbers and the date and we will put together a plan.

Payment can be made on arrival or on departure. We accept cash and bank transfer, and card facilities are available at reception. For conferences we can invoice against a purchase order.

Breakfast is served daily. Lunch and dinner can be arranged for guests and for conference groups with notice – please give the kitchen a few hours where you can, and tell us about any dietary requirements.

Tell us your dates and we will look after the rest
