Per night
The Classic Rooms are the oldest part of the lodge and still the ones guests ask for by name. Each has a carved timber four-poster draped with a net, an armchair to read in, and a dresser with a proper mirror. The proportions are generous and the windows are deep. Turndown is done every evening.
So that every guest gets the stay they came for, we ask for a few simple things. If anything here is awkward for your trip, speak to reception – most of it can be worked around.
Check-in & check-out
Check-in is from 14:00. Check-out is by 10:00. Earlier arrivals and later departures depend on the day; tell us in advance and we will hold the room or store your luggage at reception at no charge.
Quiet hours
From 22:00 we ask that noise is kept down in the guest wings and gardens. Conference groups and functions run in the meeting rooms and on the lawn, well away from the rooms.
Children
Children are welcome throughout. The lawns are enclosed, but they remain the responsibility of the adults they are travelling with.
Smoking
All rooms are non-smoking. There is seating in the garden for anyone who smokes.
Payment & cancellation
Settle on arrival or departure, by transfer, card or cash. Cancellations more than 48 hours ahead are not charged; inside 48 hours we charge the first night. We would always rather move a booking than cancel it, so talk to us first.
Valuables
The gate is watched through the night and parking is attended, but please do not leave valuables in vehicles. Reception can hold items for you.

Tell us your flight number and a driver will be waiting. Late arrivals are no trouble at all.
Small weddings, birthdays, church groups and company functions, indoors or out on the lawn.
